History.

The T-72 M1 is a variant of the Soviet T-72 main battle tank, widely recognised for its role in modern armoured warfare. The T-72 M1 DDR was used by East Germany (DDR) during the Cold War, reflecting the tank's proliferation among Warsaw Pact nations. It featured enhanced armour and a more powerful 125mm smoothbore gun compared to its predecessors. After the reunification of Germany, the T-72 M1 DDR tanks were phased out of service.
