History
The KTO Rosomak is an armoured personnel carrier (APC) developed by Poland and has become a crucial element in modern military operations. Its development began in the early 2000s when Poland sought to modernise its military and improve its defence capabilities. The vehicle is based on the Finnish Patria AMV (Armoured Modular Vehicle) platform, which Poland licensed in 2002. The first Rosomaks entered service with the Polish Army in 2005.
Designed to provide high mobility and protection, the Rosomak has been deployed in various military operations, including in Afghanistan, where it proved its capabilities in challenging environments. It has also been exported, most notably to Ukraine, where it has played a vital role in the ongoing conflict with Russia. The Rosomak’s adaptability and effectiveness in combat have solidified its reputation as a reliable and versatile vehicle in modern warfare.
