History.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 F-8 was a German ground-attack aircraft developed during the Second World War. Based on the successful Fw 190 fighter, the F-8 variant emerged in 1944 as a rugged, versatile machine capable of carrying heavy ordnance. It featured reinforced wings, armour protection, and improved bomb racks, making it highly effective in close air support roles. Powered by the BMW 801 radial engine, the F-8 could deliver devastating attacks against Allied ground forces. It played a significant role on both the Eastern and Western fronts, particularly during the defence of Germany in the war's final stages. Despite increasing Allied air superiority, the Fw 190 F-8 proved a durable and formidable aircraft in the Luftwaffe’s arsenal.
