The F-35®B LIGHTNING II® stands as a pinnacle of modern aviation, a single-seat, multi-role fighter meticulously crafted by Lockheed Martin Corporation. Specifically engineered for short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL), the F-35B variant is tailored to replace existing aircraft within the United States Marine Corps, as well as those of the British RAF and Royal Navy.

Since its induction into service in 2015, the F-35B LIGHTNING II® has demonstrated unparalleled versatility, capable of executing close support missions, bombing runs, and engaging in air-to-air combat with agility and precision. Boasting supersonic capabilities and reduced detectability, it excels in reconnaissance and electronic warfare, adept at detection, tracking, targeting, and jamming.

Armed with a formidable arsenal, the F-35B can carry up to six AIM-120 AMRAAM, AIM-9X Sidewinder, or AIM-132 ASRAAM missiles internally, along with two air-to-air missiles and two 455 kg bombs. For ground targets, options include JSOW or GBU-39 SDB bombs, Brimstone anti-tank missiles, cluster bombs, or AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles. While mounting additional armaments may compromise stealth capabilities, the aircraft offers flexibility with up to four under-wing pylons and two wing-end mounts for AIM-9 missiles.

A collaborative effort between the United States, Great Britain, and other interested nations, the F-35B LIGHTNING II® represents a pinnacle of international cooperation in aerospace technology. Under the guidance of Lockheed Martin, in partnership with BAE Systems and Northrop Grumman, this aircraft embodies the epitome of modern military innovation and prowess.
