History.

The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II is a single-engine turboprop trainer aircraft used by the U.S. Navy for pilot training. Introduced in the early 2000s, it replaced older trainers like the T-34C Turbo Mentor. Based on the Pilatus PC-9, the T-6 Texan II was modified by Beechcraft to meet U.S. military requirements. The Navy primarily uses it in its Primary Flight Training programme, where student naval aviators develop essential flying skills before advancing to jets, helicopters, or multi-engine aircraft. The aircraft features an ejection seat, digital avionics, and pressurised cockpit, making it a modern training platform. Its versatility and efficiency have made it a key component of Naval Air Training Command, preparing future pilots for advanced military aviation roles.
