History.
ORP Sęp was a Polish Wilk-class submarine that served with the Polish Navy during the early stages of the World War II. Built in the Netherlands and commissioned in 1939, she entered service shortly before the German invasion of Poland. At the outbreak of war, ORP Sęp operated in the Baltic Sea, carrying out patrols and laying naval mines intended to disrupt German naval movements. During these operations, the submarine was heavily attacked by German anti-submarine forces and sustained significant damage. Unable to continue fighting effectively, her crew sailed to Sweden, where the vessel was interned for the remainder of the war. After 1945, ORP Sęp returned to Poland and continued serving for many years.
