The model faithfully recreates the iconic boat's design featuring a special fabric component that replicates the characteristic roof. The boat's flat bottom includes discreet wheels, allowing it to rotate smoothly on flat surfaces. It is has brick-built M2HB rifles as weapons and a crew of four soldiers, including accessories. All inscriptions are printed, with no stickers.
History.
The Patrol Boat, River (PBR) was a small US boat designed for river patrols and troop transport. Unique features included a shallow draft, thanks to its fiberglass hull, and water jet propulsion, allowing it to navigate in shallow waters. It had a top speed of 28.5 knots (53 km/h or 32 mph) and a crew of four soldiers; the boat captain, gunner, mechanic, and sailor.
The PBR had a significant amount of firepower, including a twin-mounted M2HB 0.50 caliber (12.7 mm) machine gun on the bow and a single M2HB on the stern, as well as a grenade launcher and a set of M16 rifles. The U.S. Navy utilised these boats until the 1990s, and they remain popular among civilians.
