History.

The Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger 131 is a renowned German heavy tank from World War II. Introduced in 1942, the Tiger I was feared for its formidable 88mm KwK 36 gun and exceptional armour, making it a formidable adversary on the battlefield. Tiger 131 was captured by British forces in Tunisia during the Battle of Medjez-el-Bab in April 1943, becoming the first operational Tiger tank seized intact. Its capture provided valuable insights into German tank technology. Restored to full working condition, Tiger 131 remains the centrepiece of The Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset. It is celebrated as a rare survivor, symbolising the technological ingenuity and the challenges faced during armoured warfare in the Second World War.
