History.
The Ford V3000S Maultier, developed during World War II, was a German half-track truck based on the Ford V3000S chassis. The vehicle emerged as a solution to the Wehrmacht's need for reliable transport in harsh, muddy, or snowy terrains on the Eastern Front. "Maultier," meaning "mule" in German, aptly described its role as a sturdy, versatile workhorse.
The design featured a modified rear axle replaced by tracks, combining a traditional truck's simplicity with the enhanced off-road capability of a half-track. Produced between 1942 and 1945, the Maultier served primarily as a transport vehicle for troops, ammunition, and supplies. Ford's German subsidiary contributed significantly to its production, highlighting the global reach of Ford's industrial expertise during the war.
