History.
The Heinkel He 111 H-3 was a German medium bomber developed in the late 1930s and used extensively during the early years of the Second World War. It was part of the H-series, which replaced earlier variants and introduced improved defensive armament and more powerful Junkers Jumo 211 engines. The H-3 entered service around 1939 and saw action in Poland, Norway, France and during the Battle of Britain. Although initially effective, the aircraft proved vulnerable to modern fighter interception, particularly due to its limited speed and defensive coverage. Despite these weaknesses, the He 111 H-3 played a significant role in establishing German air power early in the war and remained in service in various roles until later models replaced it.
