The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter, designed by Clarence "Kelly" Johnson, was a groundbreaking aircraft in the Cold War era. Introduced in 1958, it was the first operational aircraft capable of sustained Mach 2 flight. Its sleek, needle-like fuselage and short wings earned it the nickname "Missile with a Man in It."
