History.
Prussian soldiers came from the Kingdom of Prussia, a powerful German state that emerged in the 17th century and played a leading role in European military and political affairs. Prussia’s heartland was in what is now northeastern Germany and parts of modern-day Poland, with key cities including Berlin and Königsberg. The Prussian Army became famous for its discipline, innovation, and effectiveness, especially under King Frederick the Great in the 18th century. Prussian soldiers were often recruited from across the kingdom and trained to follow orders with precision and courage. By the 19th century, the Prussian military had become the dominant force among the German states and played a key role in unifying Germany under Prussian leadership in 1871, forming the German Empire.
