History.

Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the British monarch, has a rich history dating back to the early 18th century. Originally known as Buckingham House, it was built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham. In 1761, King George III acquired the house as a private residence for Queen Charlotte, marking the beginning of its association with the royal family.

In the 19th century, King George IV transformed the house into a palace with the help of architect John Nash. Queen Victoria was the first monarch to reside in Buckingham Palace in 1837. Over the years, the palace has undergone numerous expansions and renovations, evolving into a symbol of the British monarchy.

Today, Buckingham Palace is not only the administrative headquarters of the monarch but also a venue for state occasions and royal hospitality, attracting millions of visitors annually.
