History.

The Volkswagen T2a Campingwagen, introduced in 1967, marked a new chapter in the evolution of VW campervans. As the successor to the beloved T1, the T2a featured a more robust design with a rounded body and improved suspension. Popularly known as the “Bay Window” due to its panoramic front windscreen, the T2a quickly became a favourite among travellers and outdoor enthusiasts. Westfalia, a German conversion company, partnered with Volkswagen to produce fully-equipped camping interiors, including fold-out beds, sinks, and pop-up roofs. The T2a remained in production until 1971, when it was succeeded by the T2b. Today, the T2a is cherished as a nostalgic icon of freedom and counterculture, symbolising the spirit of adventure and the open road.
