History.

Spitfire Mk.I N3200 was a British fighter aircraft that played a key role in the early days of World War II. Built in 1939, it was assigned to No. 19 Squadron, RAF Duxford. On 26 May 1940, during the Dunkirk evacuation, N3200, piloted by Squadron Leader Geoffrey Stephenson, was shot down by German fighters while protecting Allied troops. The aircraft crash-landed on the beaches of Dunkirk and was buried under the sand for decades. In 1986, shifting tides revealed its remains, and in 2000, it was recovered and meticulously restored. Fully restored to flying condition, N3200 now resides at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, serving as a testament to the bravery of RAF pilots and the iconic Spitfire's legacy.
