History.

The Panzer I Ausf. B was an early German light tank developed in the 1930s as part of Germany’s rearmament programme. An improvement over the earlier Ausf. A, it featured a more powerful Maybach NL 38 TR engine and lengthened chassis with five road wheels, allowing better mobility and reliability. Armed with twin 7.92 mm MG 13 machine guns in a rotating turret, it was lightly armoured and designed primarily for training and infantry support, not tank-to-tank combat. The Panzer I Ausf. B first saw action in the Spanish Civil War and later served during the invasions of Poland and France in World War II. Though quickly outclassed, it provided valuable experience that shaped later German tank designs.
