History.
The KAWASAKI KI-61, also known as the "Flying Swallow," was a Japanese fighter aircraft during World War II. Initially mistaken by the Americans as an Italian design, they nicknamed it "Tony," hinting at its alleged Italian origins. Officially designated as the Army Fighter Model 3 in Japan, over 3,000 units were produced. It first encountered U.S. airmen during the Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942, over Yokohama Harbour.
