Customer photos round-up

Before I get into the main part of this week’s blog, a quick update on our COBI order. It shipped earlier this week — including plenty of Fairey Swordfish kits — and is currently expected to arrive between 28th May and 2nd June, so there’s not too long to wait now. There are currently 6 available Fairey Swordfish kits on this order - the rest have been pre-ordered so if you want one from this initial batch, my advice is don't leave it to the last minute. If you’d like a reminder of the other new releases heading our way, take a look at last week's blog for the full details.

This week, I thought we’d do something a little different. As many of our customers aren’t on social media, I wanted to share some of the fantastic customer photos, stories and feedback we receive each week. Below are some of my favourites. Many are linked to product reviews that are too long to include here in full, so I’ve added links to the relevant product pages if you’d like to read more. Please note, if you click on the product image (not the 'add to cart' button) it should take you to the product page. And for those of you who do follow us on social media, some of these photos haven’t been shared there yet.

A huge thank you to everyone who takes the time to send us photos and feedback — it’s a big part of what makes this community so special.

Enjoy!

Zoë

Jim got a bit creative here with his Junkers and gave it an extra layer of camo.

The last photo of the Mirage 2000 - of the real thing
- was taken on exercise over Oman by Mark - he was lucky enough to get a
cabby on a VC10 for a refuelling flight!!😍

'A Monster on the loose' review & photos by Peter K.

I know I've read some reviews about how accurate or not some aspects of
the kit is, but to my untrained eye it looks superb when assembled, if a
bit anonymous however without any unit markings or ID numbers. I must
be getting better at building them, only a couple of missteps I had to
go back and rectify with the similar fiddly pieces. The size difference
between a King Tiger and a Cromwell is huge for example, but General
Maczek refuses to be intimidated! But you can appreciate just what the
Allied tank crews were up against. I wondered if the minifig would look
anything like Robert Shaw as Colonel Martin Hessler in "The Battle of
the Bulge"? I did find myself humming Panzerlied during the build.

90th Birthday gift

Jennie bought one of our COBI Lancaster Bombers for her dad’s 90th
birthday — a former RAF crew member and one of the last to fly
Lancasters in the 1950s. When she and her sister were little, he used to build model planes for them. Now, decades later, she’s set him a new model building
challenge. To make the day even better… he actually received two Lancasters —
one as a model, and one as his birthday cake (thanks to her mum!).

Love the photos from the other collectors out there. I especially note someone else has the full 9 red arrows. Some great enthusiasm.
