History.
The Renault R35 was a French light infantry tank developed in the mid-1930s and extensively used during World War II. Conceived to replace the aging Renault FT, the R35 was designed for infantry support. It featured a 37mm Puteaux SA 18 gun and 40mm armour, making it relatively well-protected for its time. The tank saw action during the Battle of France in 1940, where its slow speed and limited range were drawbacks against the German Blitzkrieg tactics. Despite this, the R35 was used by several countries throughout the war, including Germany, which captured and repurposed many units after France's defeat.
