History.

The 8.8 cm Flak 18 was developed in the 1930s in as a heavy anti-aircraft gun, but it soon gained fame for its versatility. Mounted on a cruciform carriage, it could be rapidly deployed and traversed through 360 degrees, allowing both high-angle and direct fire. During the Second World War, the Flak 18 proved highly effective not only against aircraft but also against tanks, thanks to its high muzzle velocity and accuracy. It was notably used in Spain, North Africa, and on the Eastern Front. Later variants, including the Flak 36 and 37, improved mobility and fire control. The gun’s power and adaptability made it one of the most feared artillery pieces of its era.
