The Nighthawks are coming + MOC of the month!
Can't believe we're in July already! We will be at Somerset Armed Forces Day tomorrow (Saturday 4th) - hope to meet many of you there.

Aside from preparing for our event this week, we’ve placed a large order for the much-anticipated COBI Nighthawk. We were also hoping to secure an even greater quantity of Flying Scotsman kits, but unfortunately, they’re not quite ready—so there’ll be a short wait of an extra week for those, I’m afraid. The good news is that the Nighthawks are expected to arrive by the middle of next week. Hopefully, they’ll prove well worth the wait.
Another Sluban order arrived this week, bringing with it a few more new models plus a general restock. Check out the full range and latest customer review from none other than our fantastic and prolific COBI model reviewer Mark C. who decided to test out his first Sluban set last week!

Flakpanzer IV (3.7 cm Flak 43) ‘Möbelwagen MOC
by Lee D.
by Lee D.

"This model is based on the old Panzer IV (2508a), the model was replaced by 2592, and instead of scrapping it I decided to rebuild it into the Flakpanzer IV (3.7 cm Flak 43) ‘Möbelwagen."

"The 3.7 cm Flak auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen IV (sf) (Sd.Kfz. 161/3), nicknamed Möbelwagen ("Moving Van") because of its boxy shape, was a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun built from the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. The Möbelwagen was built on Panzer IV chassis that had been damaged on the Eastern Front and returned to the factory for repair. The side plates had two operating positions: they could be lowered for full 360 degree traverse, allowing flat or low-level firing (it was found that the 3.7 cm gun was very useful against soft and lightly armoured ground units), or they could be half-closed, being pinned together to hang slightly open. In this position, the gun had full 360 degree rotation, but only for firing at airborne targets. For ground targets the front wall had to be lowered at least partially. Lowering the walls left the crew extremely vulnerable. The fully closed position was only used for transport, in order to give the crew some protection from small arms fire and shrapnel. I've tried to create each off the positions with and without a crew." ~ Lee D.
