New COBI Kits + Diorama Pics + Pre-orders Update
Hello and welcome to another jam-packed BrickTanks blog.
James was off visiting some WWI sites in France and Belguim last week. He's got some great photos, fascinating facts and he plans to write at least one blog about the trip. So keep an eye out for that.

New COBI kits for November/December!
Two old favourites have been updated and should be available before the end of this year. New versions of the Ferdinand (COBI-2583) and Elefant (COBI-2582) kits will have approximately 1,200 bricks each, be fully pad-printed, and have interiors. The Elefant is due for release in November and Ferdinand in December and yes, before you ask they will be in 1:28 scale - phew! Fingers crossed we'll be able to get hold of them both in time for Christmas - as always we'll keep you posted.
D-Day Landings - 80th Anniversary 2024
Let's not forget that 2024 will mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and the Battle of Normandy which led to the liberation of France and Europe. So my guess is COBI will have some pretty special kits lined up to mark the anniversary of this historic event. Speaking of which...
New COBI kits for Jan/Feb 2024!
COBI confirmed the rumours with us today that they have some British aircraft in the pipeline for early 2024 - Hawker Typhoon (COBI-5864) and Supermarine Spitfire MK.XVI Bubbletop (COBI-5865). Both will be 1:48 scale, have approx. 186 bricks and be fully pad-printed with no figures.
Pre-orders Update
Our latest COBI order just arrived today and contains a couple of exciting new releases. The most notable being the Jagdtiger (COBI-2580), which was one of our customer requests - thank you, COBI!
The other is the Mig 29 DDR (COBI-5851) - there's less than four of these left.
Please note the Dornier Do 17Z-2 kit (COBI-5754) was due for release on October 25th but is now expected around October 9th. I checked with COBI yesterday and they confirmed this is the case (hope I haven't jinxed it now!). Thank you for your patience, we will get it in stock as soon as possible.
We have added COBI's new Key Chain collection to the website, currently available for pre-order, so if you're looking for a small add on gift, they may be just the ticket.
There are also some more images for a couple of the new armoured cars plus the 1:48 KV-2 - see below.

Diorama by a father and son
I'm delighted to share some inspiring photos of a diorama made by two talented COBI builders, Neal and his son Matthew. Together they made this impressive diorama a few years ago during lockdown using COBI, LEGO and some model railway scenery! I can still remember the day Neal emailed me the photos, I was blown away. I recently stumbled across the photos again and felt inspired to share them once more.
I was in contact with Neal earlier this week and he told me they have a few new ideas, although both of them are much busier now. So watch this space (no pressure Neal and Matthew if you're reading this!). Let us know if you have any questions about building dioramas, I can certainly ask Neal if he has any tips.
We have more photos of Neal and Matthew's other amazing dioramas too. Let us know if you are interested to see their Afrika Korps, Ardennes and/or D-day Landing scenes.
Or maybe you have created your own diorama? If so, we'd love to see some photos - please send them to admin@bricktanks.co.uk.
