New releases on the way + Discontinued + Willys SAS Jeep update
Hello,
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has already left a review and/or sent us photos of either/both the Executive Edition and Standard Edition Lancaster kits. These are by far our two best selling new kits of the year, if not of all time! The Dambusters version has sold out in advance of them arriving each time we have ordered them, and the 5* reviews speak for themselves. Thank you again for all the support in making these kits a reality - COBI has done us proud. Thanks also to Paul M. for his comment under our recent blog mentioning how COBI's Dambusters model was based on the original aircraft flown by George "Johnny" Johnson. I've added a little background about that at the end of the blog.
COBI Spitfire Update
If you have back-ordered one of the last discontinued Spitfires (COBI-5725), they will be on our next COBI order (due to ship next week) and due in stock around mid-October.
Willys MB - SAS Update
Not good news I'm afraid. COBI-2298 has got to be one of the most delayed models of the year and there's been a lot of delays due to the factory fire. Now due for release 31st October.
Our latest COBI order is due in stock towards the end of next week - see details below.
That's all for this week - have a great weekend.
Warmest wishes,
Zoë

DID YOU KNOW...
COBI's new Avro Lancaster Bomber B III ''Dambusters'' kit was based on the aircraft of Squadron Leader George "Johnny" Johnson (pictured). Johnny Johnson, born George Leonard Johnson in 1921, was the last surviving British Dambuster, renowned for his role in the famous World War II Dambusters Raid.
On the night of 16-17 May 1943, Johnson served as a bomb aimer in RAF 617 Squadron, tasked with targeting Germany’s Ruhr Valley dams. The mission, using specially designed bouncing bombs, aimed to cripple German industry by flooding vital areas. Johnson's aircraft attacked the Sorpe Dam, where he successfully directed the bomb release.
After the war, Johnson continued to serve in the RAF before retiring as a Squadron Leader. He spent his later years as an advocate for military history and veterans, sharing his experiences. For his part in the raid, Johnson received the Distinguished Flying Medal. He died in 2022, aged 101.
