Akagis and "Konigstigers" are coming!

Welcome to this week's blog.

We had a mostly sunny, busy and successful event at Somerset Armed Forces Day last Saturday. With over 36,500 visitors to the event, we were so busy that we forgot to take any photos of the military vehicles and attractions - whoops. We just caught the sound and smoke of the Red Arrows flying over at lunchtime.

This week, I have very little to report. Oh wait... there was something... Ah yes, we have a large number of pre-ordered Akagi kits (4851) on the way plus the Panzer VI Ausf. B "Konigstiger" kits (3113). Yes, it's finally happening and if you haven't pre-ordered yours yet, what are you waiting for? We have a limited number of each new release available which haven't been pre-ordered, so don't delay.

In addition to the above much anticipated kits, we have managed to get hold of a few more COBI Hawker Hurricane (5728) kits which are discontinued and a few more Spitfires (5725) - we don't believe the Spitfire has been discontinued but COBI have told us they are unlikely to be back in production this year.

Unfortunately, the release of the Executive Edition Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E. kit (2587) has been delayed until Tuesday 16th July. But don't worry, we have placed an advanced order for a large number of the kits so they will ship as soon as they are available and should arrive the following week.

Finally, if you're wondering what's happening with the CaDA delivery, the latest update is that it was due to arrive at UK port today, only we haven't received confirmation of that yet... We will let you know once it is actually here, hopefully next week.

Have a great weekend.

Warmest wishes,

Zoë

P.S. COBI released lots of new images for pre-orders being released in July this week, so do check out the pre-order collection to see those.

History and background

The Saumur Tiger tank, housed at the Musée des Blindés in Saumur, France, is an iconic relic of World War II. The museum's Tiger I is one of the few operational examples left in the world, making it a significant historical artefact. This particular Tiger tank, originally part of the German Wehrmacht, saw action on the Eastern and Western fronts.

Post-war, the tank was captured by French forces and eventually restored to running condition. The Tiger I, renowned for its formidable armour and powerful 88mm gun, was a formidable adversary on the battlefield, though its complexity and production cost limited its numbers.

Don't forget about the Lancaster kits!

The pre-orders for these kits keep rolling in almost every day and many are from new customers which is great news for our growing community. Thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered from us, rest assured we will get them in stock as fast as humanly possible! Also, check out below the new product images COBI released earlier this week - they both look amazing.
