History.

The Type 95 Ha-Go was a light tank used by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Developed in the early 1930s, its design was centered around the need for a mechanically reliable and fast tank capable of supporting infantry or conducting reconnaissance missions. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was responsible for its production, and the Type 95 first rolled out in 1936.

Weighing about 7.4 tons and powered by a 120-horsepower diesel engine, the Type 95 Ha-Go was capable of reaching speeds up to 45 km/h, making it one of the faster tanks of its era. It was relatively lightly armoured, with thicknesses ranging from 12 to 16 mm, which was sufficient against small arms fire but vulnerable to anti-tank weapons.

The tank was armed with a 37mm main gun and two 7.7mm machine guns, providing a balanced armament that could handle both infantry and light vehicles effectively. Over its service life, the Type 95 Ha-Go saw extensive action across China, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands. It participated in numerous significant battles, including those at Khalkhin Gol against the Soviets and throughout the Philippines and Malaya against Allied forces.
