History
The Panther Ausf. G was the definitive and most produced variant of Germany's iconic WWII medium tank, entering service in March 1944. Designed to fix vulnerabilities found in earlier models, the Ausf. G featured redesigned hull side armour, a simplified driver sight, and a modified gun mantlet with a lower "chin" to prevent dangerous shot traps.
Armed with a lethal 7.5 cm KwK 42 L/70 high-velocity gun and protected by sloped armour, it outmatched most Allied armour like the M4 Sherman and T-34-85 at long ranges. Over 2,900 units were built before the war's end, making it Germany's ultimate armoured vehicle balance of firepower, protection, and mobility.
