History.

The Mikoyan MiG-29, known to NATO as “Fulcrum,” first flew in 1977 and entered Soviet service in 1983. Developed by the Mikoyan bureau, it was designed to counter Western fighters such as the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon. The MiG-29 featured excellent manoeuvrability, twin engines for survivability, and advanced infrared search and track systems. Widely exported, it served across Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. After the Cold War, upgraded variants improved avionics and multirole capability. Today, modernised MiG-29s remain in service with numerous air forces worldwide.
