The M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is a heavy, armored, self-propelled rocket artillery unit fielded by the U.S. Army and allied forces. Built on a tracked chassis derived from the Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the M270 is engineered to traverse rugged, off-road combat terrain alongside armored formations.
Its key advantage lies in raw firepower capacity: the launcher holds two interchangeable pods, enabling it to ripple-fire 12 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) rockets or two long-range ATACMS missiles.
