History.
The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank developed during World War II. Named after Kliment Voroshilov, it was an adaptation of the KV-1, featuring a massive 152mm howitzer mounted on an oversized turret. Designed primarily for infantry support, the KV-2 was intended to break through heavily fortified defences, such as bunkers and pillboxes.
Introduced in 1940, it first saw combat during the Soviet-Finnish Winter War and later in the early stages of the German invasion of the Soviet Union. While its firepower was formidable, the KV-2's excessive weight caused mechanical issues, and its large silhouette made it an easy target. Although production ceased in 1941, it remains an iconic symbol of Soviet armoured ingenuity.
