History.

The Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E (Sd.Kfz. 181), commonly known as the Tiger I, was a German heavy tank deployed during World War II. Introduced in 1942, it was designed to counter advanced Soviet armour such as the T-34 and KV-1. Powered by a Maybach V12 engine, it featured thick armour and a powerful 88mm KwK 36 gun, making it a formidable adversary. Its development was rushed, leading to mechanical reliability issues and high production costs, limiting its numbers to around 1,347 units. The Tiger I saw action on both the Eastern and Western fronts, becoming a symbol of German engineering prowess. However, its operational inefficiencies contributed to its inability to decisively impact Germany’s war effort.
