Medium tank, Panzerkampfwagen III, developed by Nazi Germany in the 1930s, was widely deployed in World War II. Developed to fight other tanks and compliment the infantry support Panzer IV, Panzer III, in it's final version, became the Third Reich's standard infantry support tank as the Panzer IVs were fitted with a more powerful anti-tank gun to combat the threat from the Soviet T-34. Though production of Panzer III ceased in 1943, the chassis was used as a base for the Stug III assault gun until the end of the war. This model is of the PZ.KPFW.III AUSF.J variant
